About YoruLearn and Our Editorial Method

YoruLearn is an independent Japanese-learning app and free study library built around active recall. The website provides answer-first grammar explanations, vocabulary charts, kana and kanji references, JLPT study pages, and practical Japanese examples. Guides are checked against primary educational references, reviewed for internal consistency, and revised when learner feedback or official guidance reveals a clearer explanation.

What YoruLearn Publishes

The free library is organized around the questions Japanese learners search for: script charts, kanji references, grammar comparisons, vocabulary lists, JLPT practice, and short practical explanations. Reference pages are designed to give a direct answer first, then provide tables, examples, common mistakes, and related next steps.

The app focuses on durable learning rather than passive reading. Learners can review vocabulary, practise kanji writing, complete grammar drills, and revisit weak material through adaptive review.

Editorial Principles

  1. Answer the learner’s question directly. Every guide should make the key distinction clear near the top.
  2. Show Japanese in context. Tables and examples include Japanese text rather than relying on romaji alone.
  3. Separate safe everyday language from dramatic or risky usage. Register and context matter.
  4. Connect reference material to practice. Guides link to relevant charts, drills, quizzes, and app features.
  5. Correct errors when found. Pages are revised as the library grows and learner feedback identifies unclear explanations.

How the Website and App Fit Together

The website is the searchable reference layer. Use it when you need a chart, comparison, explanation, or example. The app is the practice layer. It turns reference material into writing practice, flashcards, grammar drills, fill-in-the-blank exercises, and adaptive review.

How Guides Are Researched and Reviewed

  1. Search intent is defined first. Each page is built around one primary learner question rather than a loose collection of keywords.
  2. Claims are checked against primary sources. Beginner-language explanations use Japan Foundation materials where relevant; JLPT claims are checked against the official JLPT website; pitch-accent references use academic resources such as OJAD.
  3. Examples are checked for register and consistency. Japanese text, kana, romaji, and English meaning must agree, and pages distinguish casual, polite, formal, and risky usage.
  4. Unsupported guarantees are removed. Study suggestions are presented as practical guidance, not as universal promises about scores or memorization speed.
  5. Pages are updated when evidence changes. The visible review date and structured-data modification date are updated together after substantive revisions.

External references support terminology and scope. YoruLearn’s example sentences and study explanations are written specifically for this library.

Corrections, Scope, and Independence

YoruLearn is an independent learning product and is not affiliated with the JLPT organizers, the Japan Foundation, or the University of Tokyo. Japanese varies by region, generation, and social context, so pages identify the standard or register being described where that distinction matters. If you find an unclear example, factual issue, or broken page, please report it through support.
